ANSYS - avoiding of the verify prompt - trick

A way to simulate multiple cases with varying parameters in ANSYS is here!

I wanted to use a simple *DO loop for those but everytime I /clear the database and start a new one, ANSYS would ask me to verify it. Searching the internet and the help did not help. ANSYS seems to have no simple way to get rid of it.

This is the solution I came up with -
1. Initialize the file with /clear in the beginning, ANSYS asks for verification for the very first time (you have to say "yes" for the very first time)
2. Then save this initial database by SAVE,DATA,....
3. Introduce parameters and code the loop
4. Before ending the loop, use PARSAV,... to save the parameters to some file (your results can be parameter arrays; use *GET to save the results as parameters).
5. Then resume the initial database by RESUME, DATA,... (This virtually deletes your database)
6. Now, resume the parameters by PARRES to recover the loop parameters and result parameters.
7. *ENDDO the loops and run the simulation. After the simulations are done, just open the file where the parameters are saved and you have all your results there.

How many people visited my website?

Sometimes, I wonder if people visit my website at all. The "look, what I have done"- feeling is common to every art, and even science, I guess. One who writes wants others to read it, one who composes a piece of music wants others to listen to it, one who discovers something publishes it. A creation is nothing if it is not appreciated. Internet is a very effective tool to publish one's work. (A good prelude for a SSC English paper ends here :D)

Let me come to the point. While surfing on the web, I found the sitemeter on one of the good marathi blogs (मी अनु). This meter may be technically very simple (for the techies) but is very useful. It tells you who's logged on, which sites they came from, where on earth they are located, how many times is the page visited in last so many days/hours etc. And its free! Its pretty amazing.

First time experience with Greyhound

Last week we traveled from Atlanta to Greenville and back by Greyhound bus. We had heard many different things about greyhound and were a bit worried but the experience was quite pleasant.

The bus from ATL arrived 70 minutes late for no good reasons, though ATL was the first stop. We were standing in the queue for a long time with no information about the status of the bus. The station was very crowded with people from all around the world. The customer service was working at its slowest, boosting frustration.

However, after we got into the bus everything went smooth. The crowd was good and quiet. Bus was clean, even the bathroom was clean. The driver was friendly. And we arrived at Greenville sharp 70 minutes late.

While coming back, the bus was on time and the journey was even better. It was raining hard and we felt good that we did not have to drive.

Line Rider

Just a few hours back I came across this game called line rider. It is very simple looking game, very cleverly designed to give some food to your creativity. What you need to have is some common sense and a little bit of basic physics.

I was amazed to see what simple lines can do. Let me not explain it here in detail because its a good surprise. I was hoping that I could somehow share my design but I have not figured it out yet. But it is lots of fun if you like making and breaking things.

आणि हो - Firefox मधे वगैरे कधी कधी काना-मात्रा उलटे पुलटे दिसाअयला लागतात. अशा वेळी सोपा उपाय असा - control panel -> regional and language options -> languages tab -> select install files for complex script and right to left languages. Install झाले की संगणक बंद/चालू करा आणि वाचा मराठीत व्यवस्थित.
